such talent BALCO unveils a Scholarship Scheme 'UTKARSH'
Salient Features of the Scheme.
•
The scheme is applicable to the bonafide residents of
Chhattisgarh state.
• Preference
shall be given to the students who hail from economically
weaker section of the society with family’s annual income
not
exceeding Rs 1.25 Lacs.
• Upto
21 students can avail the scholarship every year in the field
of Engineering from the academic session 2005-2006 onwards.
• Students
having confirmed admission for BE/ B.Tech in premier institutions
viz. six Indian Institute of Technology.: and 17 National
Institute of
Technology, Birla Institute of Technology-
Pilani and Indian Institute of Sciences - Bangalore shall
be eligible to apply for the scholarships.
• The scholarship
being merit cum means shall cover tuition fee, study material
and hostel fee. Each student can avail the scholarship amount
as per actuals upto a maximum of Rs 31,000
in one academic session.
• Students
who continue to secure 65% marks or equivalent GPA score shall
be eligible for the benefit of scholarship in subsequent years.
• Students
securing scholarship during 4 year of Engineering shall be
considered for employment in any of Vedanta Group Companies.
• No correspondence
regarding the scholarship will be entertained and the decision
of BALCO management will be binding for all
