As part of the celebrations, around 150 employees from various departments tied rakhis on the wrists of women, men, transgender and other security personnel at BALCO. The initiative recognised their contribution towards safeguarding employees and maintaining a secure workplace. The Rakhi symbolised mutual trust, responsibility and a shared commitment to safety.
Women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) associated with BALCO’s Project Unnatti also participated in the celebrations by presenting and tying handcrafted rakhis on the wrists of senior BALCO officials, including Rajesh Kumar Singh, CEO & Whole-time Director, BALCO. The initiative showcased the skills, confidence and entrepreneurial spirit developed through Project Unnatti, which focuses on creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and promoting women’s economic empowerment.
At BALCO Hospital, SHG women tied rakhis on the wrists of doctors and medical staff as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication and service.
The festival was also celebrated with children at Nand Ghar, who prepared rakhis and tied them on each other’s wrists, sharing messages of love, care and togetherness. The activity encouraged creativity while familiarising children with the cultural significance of Indian festivals and values of family and mutual care. Nand Ghar is a key Vedanta Group community development initiative focused on the holistic development of children and women. BALCO continues to support communities in its operational areas through programmes across education, healthcare, nutrition and women empowerment.
The Raksha Bandhan celebrations brought BALCO’s people and communities together, reaffirming the values of care, respect, safety and shared progress.

This press release contains “forward-looking statements” – that is, statements related to future, not past, events. In this context, forward-looking statements often address our expected future business and financial performance, and often contain words such as “expects,” “anticipates,” “intends,” “plans,” “believes,” “seeks,” “should” or “will.” Forward-looking statements by their nature address matters that are, to different degrees, uncertain. For us, uncertainties arise from the behaviour of financial and metals markets including the London Metal Exchange, fluctuations in interest and or exchange rates and metal prices; from future integration of acquired businesses; and from numerous other matters of national, regional, and global scale, including those of a political, economic, business, competitive or regulatory nature. These uncertainties may cause our actual future results to be materially different than those expressed in our forward-looking statements.
