BALCO celebrates India’s 77th Independence Day with pride and enthusiasm

Balconagar; 16th August 2023: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, marked the nation’s 77th Independence Day with grand celebrations involving employees, family members and business partners within the BALCO plant premises.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO & Director, BALCO, initiated the celebration by hoisting the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem. Mr. Kumar addressed the audience and took the opportunity to recognize and applaud the gathered participants for their dedicated efforts towards BALCO’s operational excellence.

He highlighted all the important benchmarks that BALCO has achieved so far in its journey and the important part that it has played in the growth and development of the nation through its community development endeavors, environmental & social initiatives as well as cutting-edge business ecosystem. He shared the future growth roadmap for BALCO, aligned to the national vision of making India a global manufacturing powerhouse, and urged everyone to be a part of this journey and fulfill their responsibility towards the nation.

The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony inspiring the attendees to participate in voting and enhance the principles of democracy. Mr. Kumar also paid a visit to BALCO hospital, where he distributed fresh fruit baskets to several patients and took the time to personally enquire into their well-being.

Celebrating the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign initiated by the Government of India, members of the BALCO family enthusiastically joined the campaign by sharing selfies with saplings, soil, and earthen lamps, representing BALCO’s role as a significant contributor to national progress. The Independence Day event also included the recognition of outstanding security guards and employees for their exemplary performance and enthusiastic engagement in cultural activities. The event also showcased films portraying BALCO’s diversity and pride for the nation, along with capturing its enthusiasm for Independence Day.
